Ah! Don't the words of SHAEKSPEAR95 sound just like iPod music to your ears? No? Then you're probably a grumpy old dinosaur like me. Kids nowadays... they have their own freaking language.

William Shakespeare had his own language too. He is really the granddaddy of Modern English. Put Chaucer's Canterbury Tales (written in headache-inducing Middle English) and Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet side by side and you'll see how much The Bard revolutionized the language. The guy invented new words and grammar rules--he's truly the Führer of Grammar Nazis everywhere.

Now, imagine how the pompous old scholars of Shakespeare's time must had reacted to the young playwright's unconventional works. They were probably all looking at each other and asking, "What the hell is this nonsense?" (or whatever the Middle English equivalent of that is).

Today, we old people shake our heads condescendingly at the young ones for their wacky spelling and poor grammar. But who knows? Those seemingly retarded kids with their OMGs and LOLs may very well be reinventing our language the way Mr. Shakespeare did back in the day. Oh noes?

Change is inevitable. And change is perhaps already underway. Hell, people make fun of me all the time for spelling whole words out on IM and in SMS messages. I'm telling you, the revolution has already begun. At the rate we're going, 50 years from now, people will be carrying cute kittens around all day so that they can talk to each other in lolcat.
