Weren't we the kids who used to arrive at 8 AM when our classes start at 7? If we couldn't get up early enough back then (with our mothers screaming at us and all), I don't see much hope for us now.
We are doomed to be late for everything except our own funerals. Accept it. Embrace it. Sleep for 5 more minutes.
well my career high then was just around 38/yr.. now im averaging something like 7/month.. that's around 70/traditional school year.. sigh.. why'd did i think i could change? not college.. not now hehe..
I always remind myself that I should practice self-discipline. I convince myself that if I can't discipline myself on minor things, such as being punctual, I can't expect myself to be disciplined in other major things. That is if you think being punctual is of value. =)
Yeah... I'd rather be early for a movie. I like to watch movie trailers. Speaking of which, why are they called trailers anyway? They come out before the movie shows. They should be called starters.
I had 130 incidence of tardiness last year? And they only counted those I incurred until November. Oh, and I managed to get myself flexitimed, and now instead of 8:02, I get in 8:32. Compound that with a sleep problem I recently acquired, and I'm doomed! Doomed I tell ya!

Just read an intersing article on how not to be late.
Basically, the issue for me and many other chronic late folk is that we tend to underestimate just how long tasks will take to complete. We think, for example, that our shower takes 5 minutes when ini reality it takes about 18! When we mentally add up how long it will take us to do things, we neglect to build in buffer time in order to enture that we are not late.
The cure? Build in buffer time. If you think it will take you an hour to get ready and get to work, add an extra 40 minutes to that time and act accordingly!
On the top of my head
Quit your job? Hehehe :P Then transfer to a company thats flexi-time ;)
We're hopeless

Try waking up 1, maybe 2
Try waking up 1, maybe 2 minutes earlier an average of 7 times a month...
The way i do it

That depends
On what you're trying to be punctual for. Being punctual for the start of a movie definitely has value. Being punctual for work... not so much :-P
Trailers

Can I just update this by saying

Yes, you're doomed
I thought we settled that a long time ago?
Doomed to what?
We kept procrastinating on that little detail.
Um
See my first comment above.

Hmm
But I use all my buffer time for naps.
How's this for late? Hehe
Can't believe this thread would even be resurrected after this long. Interesting suggestions though, but its not buffers I need, its discipline.
Haha
I still remember your watch and your clocks...
