TRUCKS/BUSES NO ENTRY, DANGER WEAK BRIDGE

The sign said "DANGER WEAK BRIDGE"--not a particularly reassuring line to someone about to drive across the said bridge.

As I slowed down to take the picture, a mid-sized truck went past me and right over the bridge, completely disregarding the "TRUCKS/BUSES NO ENTRY" sign.

I took a deep breath and stepped on the gas.

Okay, I'm being overly dramatic here, but I do feel bad for the poor bastard who will get the biggest (and last) surprise of his life when the weak bridge finally gives way. I just hope that it won't be me.

If and when that bridge

If and when that bridge cracks, I hope a truck falls through. :F

Hmm, that's true

To hell with the children then.

so

what did they expect people to do when they put up that sign?

joyfulchicken's picture

Hmm

Tiptoe across the bridge?

the

3rd leading cause of death in the world, iliteracy

joyfulchicken's picture

Heh

You misspelled "illiteracy" :-P

or

mayb cuz every1 else misspells iliteracy, but becuz every1 spells it dat way, it became the right way to spell it, think about dat. hahaha

joyfulchicken's picture

If the days comes

when everyone spells the way you do, I'll shoot myself :-P

hmmmmmmm

that's a tragedy waiting to happen. ditto on the truck.

joyfulchicken's picture

Yeah

I don't know why they don't close the bridge if they don't want to repair it.

pffft, y repair

something dats not broken? as my previous slave master use to tell me, if a structure stands once its been built, chances are its gonna be ok...

joyfulchicken's picture

Hey Philos,

want to clarify that statement?

philos's picture

Err... who the heck was your previous slave master?

Sounds pretty stupid if you ask me.

joyfulchicken's picture

I think

he meant you :-P You're his idol, remember?

i

joyfulchicken's picture

Or at least place the sign

A hundred meters before the actual bridge.

Waiting for the inevitable

Accidents happen everyday, and when it happens on this bridge, they'll finally come to their senses and close it down. Of course, it'll be too late by then.

joyfulchicken's picture

Maybe by "weak bridge"

they mean it's cannot support the weight of trucks and buses. At least that's what I hope they mean.

Weird

It's weird why these people would build a bridge so weak that it cannot support heavy load. What on earth were they thinking? Are they daft or are they daft?

joyfulchicken's picture

Or maybe

they were naive enough to think that truck drivers around here know how to follow rules.

And you're supposed to do

And you're supposed to do what when seeing this sign? When the bridge will break, you'll say "OK, they were wright!"...I do not get the purpose of this sign...

joyfulchicken's picture

I think

the two signs are related. They're saying that there's a good reason why trucks and buses aren't allowed.

Or maybe they just enjoy making people uncomfortable :-D
